One Substance One Assessment

One substance, one assessment in Europe

Experts from Bureau REACH are actively involved in the expert group advising the European Commission on One Substance One Assessment (OSOA). 2025 proved to be an important year, as the legislative package for OSOA was adopted, including the regulation on the Common Data Platform for Chemicals (CDPC).

This platform will be developed in the coming years through cooperation between five European agencies and authorities and will provide an unprecedented source of information on substances and materials. The OSOA expert group plays an important role in advising on the design of the CDPC. Bureau REACH contributes knowledge and experience from the Dutch perspective in the field of new and emerging risks (early warning systems) and the risk assessment of substances across regulatory frameworks.

In addition, Bureau REACH has strengthened its international network by actively participating in a workshop organised by the European Environment Agency (EEA), which will be responsible for parts of the CDPC, such as the early warning system.
