New CLP Regulation and Implementation of New Hazard Classes
On 20 November 2024, amendments to the CLP Regulation were published, with entry into force on 10 December.
Bureau REACH played an active role in the development of these amendments. Key changes are:
- Include the introduction of digital labelling requirements.
- Updated labelling rules such as minimum font sizes and fold-out labels.
- Rules on advertising hazardous mixtures.
- Revised provisions for the application of mixture rules.
- The refilling of mixtures.
Since late 2024, Bureau REACH has also been actively contributing to the revision of the guidance document on labelling substances and mixtures. In addition, Bureau REACH played a key role in expanding the CLP guidance to cover new hazard classes for persistent, bioaccumulative/mobile and toxic substances, and endocrine disruptors.
